- Jason Crane was born in Georgia in the winter of 1984. Three years later, his father, a career army man, was transferred to the small town of Aiken, South Carolina. Jason was raised there, along with his older brother, and considers Aiken his home, although White County, Georgia holds a special place in his heart. In his teenage years, he spent several years attending the summer GATEWAY program learning hands-on new visual arts techniques. He also spent several years learning and playing the French horn. ___________________________________________________________ Jason attended the University of South Carolina Aiken, where he received a Bachelors of Arts in Political Science, with a Minor in History. While at USC Aiken, Jason worked for the Chancellor of the university in his office, located in the beautiful antebellum home Everwood. Everwood is today known as the Pickens-Salley House, as it was home to the "Queen of the Confederacy" Lucy Holcombe Pickens (also a distant relative of Jason's) and later the women's rights pioneer Eulalie Salley. Jason was very active on campus, co-founding the USCA College Republicans and holding office in Tau Kappa Epsilon International Fraternity, the Student Government Association, the Political Science Club, and the History Club. After USC Aiken, Jason applied for and was admitted to the Mississippi College School of Law, where he is currently a student and soon-to-be graduate. While in law school, Jason has held several offices in the school chapter of the Federalist Society and is a regular contributing columnist to the school newspaper "The Legal Eye." ___________________________________________________________ Personally, Jason is a Southern Baptist Christian. He is a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans and enjoys learning more about his family's role in that war. He is also an Entered Apprentice to the Freemasons. In his spare time, what little there is, Jason enjoys working on "Dracula the Un-Dead" related projects, reading non-law material, trying to train his dog to do more than "urinate on floor," and possibly enjoy a good cigar if he can ever find the time. __________________________________________________________ Current projects: Jason is half of the braintrust of Cox & Crane Enterprises, a multi-faceted think-tank. Along with C&C, as well as completing his coursework towards a juris doctorate, he is currently doing preliminary research for a joint literary venture concerning forgotten American history.
